While we always see our beloved Bollywood actresses in bright sarees, there is a particular fascination towards yellow sarees. From the beginning, we are seeing iconic moments and songs in Bollywood, with Bollywood actresses dresses in all yellow sarees. Why is this Bollywood Obsession With Yellow Saree? Let us find out.
#1: Sridevi In Chandni. Not one but two songs in the same movie, Chandni, Sridevi is seen wearing yellow saree. It starts with a net embroidered saree in the song ‘Tere me hoton pe’ and then a yellow chiffon saree where Vinod Khanna laments the pain of his lost love in the song, ‘Lagi aj saawan ki’. In both the looks, Sridevi is looking bright and beautiful.
#2: Bhagyashree in Maine Pyar Kiya. It is Salman and Bhagyashree’s first date after they confess their love for each other, it is celebrated with the song ‘Dil deewana, bin sajna ke’. Bhagyashree is dressed in a yellow saree matched with golden saree. She looks like a newly wed and the saree perfectly suited the situation.
#3: Raveena in Mohra. Who doesn’t remember ravishing Raveena Tandon in the song ‘ Tip tip barsa pani’? She created fire in the rain, dressed in a yellow saree. The song, her moves and the yellow saree, all added to the fiery mood of the song and not to overlook get cracking chemistry with her co-star Akshay Kumar. Though a similar effect was attempted to recreate with Katrina dressed in yellow saree and Akshay dancing in the rain in the song ‘Gale lag ja’ in the movie ‘De Dana Dan’. But it failed to create an impact.
#5: Nagma In King Uncle. Nagma gladly sat on the cycle while Shahrukh Khan lovingly sang ‘Is Jahaan ki nhi hai’, praising the beauty of her eyes. One thing that accentuated the love theme was yellow saree which Nagma wore complete with matching bangles.
