You will acquire plenty of knowledge about various materials like textiles, plastic, leather, etc., and importance of colours and patterns. You will also attend fashion shows and events, workshops taught by professionals and experts in the field. In India, NIFT (National Institute of Fashion Technology) – an institute governed by Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, is the ideal destination for learning fashion designing. NIFT is where some of India’s most famous fashion designers like Ritu Beri, Sabyasachi Mukherjee and Rohit Bal came from.
Apart from NIFT, there are other colleges/institutions for learning fashion designing. Some of these include Apeejay Institute of Design, Wigan and Leigh College, JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Global Institute of Fashion Technology etc. Then in most cities, there are some smaller institutes too which can help in establishing a career in designing course in fashion.
As far as the fees for a designing course in fashion is concerned, a minimum of Rs.50000 is required. However, the fees structure depends on various factors like the institute/college, city and course taken.
